The RMS OLYMPIC STEINWAY ASSOCIATION, a subsidiary of the ASSOCIATION FOR THE PRESERVATION AND MAINTENANCE OF HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT INSTRUMENTS, is legally registered in Austria as a non-profit organization. Registry Number: ZVR-Zahl 1275064672. Rest assured that our organisation is legally obligated to care for funds via precautions such as authorisations for expenditures and regular audits.
In addition to raising the considerable sum to purchase this piano and ship it to its new semi-permanent home, over time our organisation will also need ongoing funding from the public in order to maintain and service the instrument. We highly value any contribution that members of the public are able to give to achieve these goals, no matter how small they may be. For further information on how you can help us, please contact us directly or see our FAQ page.
In the meanwhile, please see the following information on levels of support that you may wish to exercise:
Bronze Level Donors
All individual donors who donate up to $100 USD in a single donation would receive a letter of thanks from our Board of Directors. If you so desire, your names will appear on the Association’s Facebook page as a ‘Bronze Level Donor’.
Multiple donations from a single donor, each totalling less than $100 USD and given in a single calendar year, can work progressively toward becoming a ‘Silver Level Donor’.
Silver Level Donors: ‘Associate Members’
All individual donors who give single donations totalling between $100 and $500 US Dollars will automatically become Silver Level Donors(also known as ‘Associate Members’) of our Association. Being an Associate Member will not involve any obligations. However, we will gratefully welcome you to our membership base, and you will be informed about our activities, future events, and the status of the project as we move forward. If you so desire, your name will be displayed on both our official Facebook page and on our website as a ‘Silver Level Donors’.
Multiple donations from a single donor, each totalling between $100-500 USD and given in a single calendar year, can work progressively toward becoming a ‘Gold Level Donors’.
Gold Level Donors: ‘Supporting Members’
All individual donors who make a single contribution totalling $500 USD or more will automatically become ‘Gold Level Donors’ (also known as ‘Supporting Members’) of our Association. This privilege comes with three options for recognition, should the donor wish:
- having your name displayed both on our Facebook page and on our website as a ‘Gold Level Donor’;
- having your name displayed in our quarterly e-newsletter as a ‘Gold Level Donor’;
- having your name displayed as a ‘Gold Level Donor’ on a plaque that is beside the piano in its new, semi-permanent home.
As with associate members, this level of membership does not involve any obligations. Please note that multiple single contributions totalling $500 USD or more do not work progressively toward becoming a ‘Platinum Level Donor’.
Platinum Level Donors: ‘Ordinary Members’
To become ‘Platinum Level Donors’ (also known as ‘Ordinary Members’), two steps are required:
- Download the application form here and submit it to us here (this form will be available for download soon); and
- pledge to donate a minimum membership fee of $1,000 USD, due immediately upon approval of your application, along with a recurring annual pledge of at least $50 USD.
If the potential donor’s application for this level of membership is accepted, and the accompanying donation of $1,000 USD is received within one week of notification of approval, you will become a ‘Platinum Level Donor’ or ‘Ordinary Member’. For your commitment to ongoing support of our goals, ‘Ordinary Members’ are able to actively engage in the work of the association; you will be able to have a say in the piano’s future. ‘Ordinary Membership’ expires if the annual $50 membership fee lapses. ‘Ordinary Members’ can also separately contribute funds in addition to the $1000 membership fee, if they so desire.
This level of donation and involvement with our organisation comes with the same options for recognition (on our Facebook page and on our website, in our e-newsletter, and on a plaque displayed with the piano) as the Gold Level of membership, but would be displayed in the separate ‘Platinum Level Donor’ category.
To avoid any complications from PayPal policies, please do not use the ‘friends and family’ option when contributing via PayPal. In time, options for contributing will be expanded to wire transfers and other bank account-based options.
